Meet Professional Architect Marcela Abadi Rhoads

An award-winning architect, Marcela Abadi Rhoads started her own firm, Abadi Architecture and Accessibility, in 2004. Marcela is a registered Architect as well as a registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) allowing her to provide customers with a range of services, including commercial and residential design as well as handicap accessibility consulting.

Marcela has been practicing architecture since the early 90’s and has been licensed to practice architecture in the State of Texas since 1999. Marcela enjoys being able to provide personal attention and responsiveness to her clients.  She is an excellent problem solver, organizer and team leader that puts her client’s interest first throughout the process of design and construction.

In 2005, Marcela was inducted into the Manchester’s Who’s Who of Executives and Professionals. Other awards and recognition for this dynamic business owner include:

·         AIA Dallas Commendation for service to the architectural community 2006

·         AIA Dallas Citation in recognition of outstanding achievement 2005

·         AIA Young Architect of the year- 1999

·         AIA Intern Architect of the year- 1996

·         Published in Moderna Magazine-1998

Besides designing beautiful and efficient spaces, Marcela is very active in the community and generously volunteers her time. She introduces young girls to the world of architecture by conducting seminars at high schools and is part of a team to help Girl Scouts build structures out of cookie boxes. She also spends time designing affordable housing for Habitat for Humanity.

Besides being a business owner, Marcela is also a wife and mother of two children, and yet another example of the dynamic women who make up The Network of Enterprising Women.
